Mouillette d’Argent VIII: Barcelona huele a perfume… y a Ainea

Mouillette d'Argent VIII: Barcelona smells like perfume… and Ainea

On July 1st, La Vanguardia ran the headline that “the Mouillette d'Argent Awards make Barcelona the world capital of perfume.” This statement fills us with pride, not only for the boost it gives to perfume culture, but also because at the heart of this movement is Irene Gisbert, founder of these awards… and also of Ainea Perfums.

For over seven years, the Mouillette d'Argent awards have brought together hundreds of independent perfumers from around the world in Barcelona, championing creative, artistic, and bold perfumery. This year's edition—held in the gardens of the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation—was especially symbolic: a city devoted to the art of perfume, perfumers from all five continents, and a press that, at last, is recognizing it on a grand scale.

For Ainea, this recognition is also a tribute to the values we've shared since day one: craftsmanship, creative freedom, and the Mediterranean as our olfactory inspiration. It's no coincidence that the person behind Mouillette d'Argent is the same one who dreamed of a sincere, local, and soulful perfumery, and who continues to bring our perfumes to life today.

We are thrilled to see how perfume culture is growing, being shared, and celebrated. And we are happy to know that, within this aromatic landscape, there is a story that unites us.
